If you are "Connecting" or "Redirecting" your domain purchased elsewhere to point to your WebSelf site, you are using WebSelf DNS settings.
Sometimes, a DNS or MX settings change is necessary for your domain and linked services to work correctly.
Here's how to change your domain's DNS and MX settings connected to your WebSelf site.
- In your dashboard, click "Manage" and then "Domains".
- Go to the gear icon at your domain name's right.
- Click on "Advanced Settings".
- You will be presented with a table that contains two types of records:
- 1. DNS records (HOST)
- 2. MX Recording (Email)
MX Recording (Email)
If you are "Connecting" or "Redirecting" your domain purchased elsewhere to point to your WebSelf site, you are using WebSelf DNS settings.
If you have email addresses linked to your domain name, following the DNS change, the email addresses related to your domain have been turned off.
To reactivate your email addresses linked to your domain, you have a configuration to complete in the section "MX records:
- Click on Modify.
- Click OK (to the alert message).
- The Edit MX table is displayed.
- Click on Add.
- Leave the "HOSTNAME" field empty (unless you have a value to report).
- Enter the value and its priority.
- Click on Save.
