You can use a domain you already own via a Domain Connection, which allows your domain to remain a client with your current hosting provider while "pointing" it to your WebSelf website.
The connection is established by changing your DNS (Name Server) values. Simply replace your current DNS values with WebSelf's DNS values in your domain hosting account.
IMPORTANT: Please note that subdomain connections are not possible with WebSelf.
Note: The domain Connection is a feature available only to customers subscribed to one of our Premium plans. To learn more, click here.
To set up a domain Connection from your individual Dashboard, click "Manage," then "Domains" in the top management bar.
1. Click on the + ADD A DOMAIN button.
2. Click on the "Connect à domain" option.
3. Enter the domain name you'd like to redirect to WebSelf.
IMPORTANT: When you enter the domain name, do not enter the "www" portion of your URL's . For example, if your address is "www.mysite.com", only enter "mysite". Remember to specify your extension (e.g.: .com, .net, .org, .ca, .fr, etc.).
4. Click "Connect your domain".
5. Select the website, and click "OK".
6. Your domain name will be shown on the table.
IMPORTANT: The configuration in WebSelf is now complete. To make the connection visible, you MUST complete the final configuration step in your domain settings.
7. Login to your domain registrar's interface. In the DNS management, indicate WebSelf DNS values:
ns1.webself.net
ns2.webself.net
If you have email accounts linked to the domain name, set up the "MX Records" to ensure the proper function of your email addresses.
Usually, there is a waiting period of 24 hours for the setup to take effect.
