The Script/HTML feature, which allows you to add HTML or JavaScript code to your site.
IMPORTANT:
The Script/HTML feature is only available for the Advanced and VIP premium plans.
This option allows you to use many features not directly offered by WebSelf (e.g., Google Calendar, social networks, podcasts, visitor counter, buttons, PayPal, etc.), but which involve manipulating the code.
This manipulation mainly consists of inserting the code provided by the third-party service according to that service's instructions.
To add Script/HTML, you have two options:
- In a section of a page.
- On all your pages.
Note:
WebSelf does not modify the HTML or JavaScript code. The user is responsible for ensuring the code is configured correctly.
Some widgets may contain code that is incompatible with certain browsers. They then create display problems. For example, some scripts generate intrusive advertisements (pop-ups). To fix this, the only solution is to remove the script.
1. In a section of a page.
- Add a Section, then select Script/HTML on the left. Four script types are available.
- When you select a script type, a message will appear to confirm the addition of the Script/HTML section..
-
- Click EDIT on the left.
- Click EDIT CODE (to insert your own).
- Adjust the Size (Width and Height) and Alignment as needed.
-
Note: Exceptionally, you can also change the size of your script in the tablet and mobile versions.
2. On all your pages.
- You must do this via the Site Settings: the script will be displayed on all pages of your site.
- Click on Settings, located at the bottom of the left-hand column of the editor.
- A window will appear; go to the "Code and Tracking" tab.
- Go to Script.
- OFF: This feature is disabled by default.
- ON: Once enabled, this feature is ready to receive HTML or JavaScript code. - Enter your HTML or JavaScript code in the designated window.
Note: To hide existing code, toggle the button to "OFF".
- As an example, the image below shows how the HTML or JavaScript code embedded in the inserted script will appear.
Note: You can view the script in Preview or Publish mode.
