Sales promotions are an effective marketing strategy for achieving your goals and driving business growth. They not only boost sales of one or more products, but also attract new buyers and retain existing customers.

Behaviour of a promotion after it has ended
By product discount amount
Offer the discount on specific products or a collection of products.
- From your store's admin, go to Store → Promotions.
- Click Create.
- In the Type window, the Product discount amount option is checked by default.
- Click Continue.
- In the Promotion details window, configure the following settings:
Method:
- Promotion code: Customers must enter this code at checkout.
- Automatic: Check the box, so the promotion code is automatically applied at checkout.
Status:
- Draft (checked by default): Customers cannot yet redeem the code.
- Enabled: Check the box, so the promotion code can be used.
Code:
Create the promotion code.
- In the Who can use this code? window, define which customer is allowed to use the promotional code. The promotional code can be used by all customers if it is not changed.
Required (this information is mandatory):
- Currency code: Indicates your currency code.
Equal to:
- Select the value: Select from the currencies you have configured in your store settings.
Add a condition: Specify the condition for the promotional code to be applied.
- Delete: Delete an existing condition if it is no longer valid.
- In the Promotion value window, configure the following settings:
- The amount to be discounted (for example: 100).
- Maximum quantity: The maximum number of items to which this promotion applies (for example: 15).
- In the Which items will be applied to the promotion? window,
The promotion will be applied to items that meet the following conditions:
- Add a condition: Click on it to add a condition.
Configure the settings: Select an attribute, Select an operator, Select the values.
- Click Continue.
- In the Campaign window, here are your options:
- No campaign: Continue without associating the promotion with a campaign.
- Existing campaign: Add the promotion to an existing campaign.
- New campaign: Create a new campaign for this promotion.

- Automatic, check the box, so the promotion code is automatically applied at checkout.
Status:
- Draft (checked by default), customers are not yet able to use the code.
- Enabled, check the box, so the promotion code can be used.

Edit a promotion
To edit an existing promotion:
- From your store's admin, go to Store → Products.
- Click the three-dot icon to the right of the campaign name.
- Click Edit.
- In the Edit promotion details window, make your changes (e.g., Disable promotion, etc.).
- Click Save.
Behaviour of a promotion after it has ended
Once your campaign's validity period has expired, its status will change from Active to Expired.
