To allow customers to set their own prices for products in your store, you can activate the Custom Pricing feature. This pricing method offers flexibility in determining the acceptable price for selected products. You can propose one or multiple prices to your customers, or grant them the freedom to specify the price themselves.
Activate the Custom Pricing feature for individual products directly on the product page in your store admin. You can utilize this feature to sell various products and services. Additionally, you can effectively utilize Custom Pricing to accept donations.

Activating the Custom Pricing Option
To activate the Custom Pricing feature, you need to determine the minimum price for your product. It can be “0” or any other amount. Customers won’t be able to add the item to the cart if the price is lower than the set minimum.
Products with Custom Pricing enabled no longer have a fixed price. There will be a blank field on the product page where customers can propose the amount they are willing to pay. You can also offer price suggestions, displayed as buttons with price tags (the “Your value“ option is also available).
To create products with variable prices:
- From your store admin, navigate to Catalog → Products.
- Click on Add New Product or select a product from the list.
- Click on Manage Pricing Options in the Pricing section.
- Find and select Enable Pay What You Want.
- Toggle the button to enable it.
- Set the Minimum Price for your product.
- (optional) Click on Add Fixed Price Tiers to provide one or more price suggestions.
- Click Save.
That’s it! You now have a product with adaptable pricing in your store.
You can create a dedicated section for all products with variable prices to enhance navigation in your store and increase visibility for these products. You can also showcase products with Custom Pricing enabled as Related Items in your catalog and cart.
Storefront View
There are two indicators that assist customers in identifying products with Custom Pricing enabled on your storefront.
The first indicator is the “or more” text appended to the price of the product, indicating that customers can either pay the listed price or add an additional amount. The second indicator is the orange “Free or Your Own Price” label, which appears only if the initial price of your product is “0” (and it can be obtained for free).
The orange label helps to attract customer attention to the product while browsing your storefront. This label is also visible on the product details page:
Deactivating the Custom Pricing Option
You have the option to deactivate Custom Pricing for your product if you prefer to return to traditional fixed pricing.
To disable variable pricing:
- From your store admin, navigate to Catalog → Products.
- Select a product from the list.
- Locate the Pay What You Want toggle button:
- Toggle the Pay what you want button to the off position.
- (optional) Set a new price for your product.
- Click Save.
Once you disable Custom Pricing for a product, you will regain the ability to set wholesale prices, offer discounts, and use all price modifiers associated with product options or variations.
