Revealing the minimum product price before applying discounts assists in keeping your patrons informed about the genuine advantages they receive during a promotional period, enhancing transparency in the purchasing process. Depending on the geographical location and jurisdiction of your establishment, you may be obligated by legislation (e.g., the EU Omnibus Directive) to showcase this archival data when implementing a price reduction.
You can specify the minimum price at which an item was sold during the preceding 30 days while it was on sale. This information will be visible to customers alongside the product's listed price on your storefront.

Setting minimum price before discounting for products
Once you apply a discount to a product by incorporating the "Compare to" price, you can also specify the minimum price it was sold for in the previous 30 days.
To establish the minimum price before discounting:
- Within your store's administration area, navigate to Catalog → Products.
- Access the product for which you wish to define the minimum price.
- Select Manage pricing options adjacent to the listed price.
- Input the price prior to the discount in the "Compare to" price field. This value must surpass the actual discounted price you set in the Pricing field.
- Within the Minimum price before discount field, input the lowest price at which the item was sold in the last 30 days (including any previously reduced prices announced as promotions):
The value in this field won’t be displayed on the storefront unless a value is also entered in the "Compare to" price field. - Save the changes.
That’s all! Customers will now be able to view the lowest price at which this item was sold during the previous 30 days prior to the discount. This information will be visible both on the product page and within the product grid. If the product has been available in your store for less than 30 days, an appropriate alternative message (e.g., "Lowest price in 7 days prior to discount") will be displayed.
Here's how the minimum price before discounting may appear on a product page:
If your product offers variations, you have the option to establish individual minimum prices before discounting for each variation. To set minimum prices for multiple items in bulk, utilize the Bulk Product Editor.
Setting minimum price before discounting for product variations
By default, when creating variations for your products, the minimum price before discounting is not specified. You have the option to define distinct minimum prices for each variation if desired.
Once you have established minimum prices for individual variations, customers will observe the values corresponding to the default product variation when browsing product pages on your store. Upon selecting a specific variation on the product details page, the value will adjust accordingly. If your product lacks a default variation, the minimum price value for the base product will be displayed initially.
To define the minimum price before discounting for a product variation:
- From your store's administration, proceed to Catalog → Products.
- Select a product or create a new one.
- Navigate to the Options → Variations tab.
- Click Manage in the Stock column adjacent to the variation.
- Input the price prior to the discount in the "Compare to" price field. This value must surpass the actual discounted price you set in the Price field.
- Within the Minimum price before discount field, input the lowest price for this variation over the previous 30 days (including any previously reduced prices announced as promotions):
The value in this field won’t be displayed on the storefront unless a value is also entered in the "Compare to" price field. - Click OK, then Save.
That concludes the process! You've now established the minimum price before discounting for an individual product variation.
When a customer selects this variation on the product page, they will see the minimum price information for it.
