This can aid in enhancing the visibility of certain items and have a significant impact on your click-through and conversion rates. Furthermore, your customers can still modify the arrangement to their preferred view.

Default product sort order
When you add products to your shop, the default product ordering is set to “Defined by shop owner”. That means you can drag and drop your items in the specific sequence that you’d like in the Catalog → Categories → Category items page.
Modifying product sort order storewide
You can alter the default arrangement order for all product categories in your shop at once.
You can select from a few ordering options:
- Manual, based on your own preferences
- Most recent item, based on the date that the item was created
- Highest or lowest item price
- Item title, in alphabetical order or reverse alphabetical order
To adjust the default order settings:
- From your shop admin, go to Settings → General → Cart & Checkout.
- In the Catalog Settings section, locate the Default Products Sequence Order settings.
- Change it to your preferred sequence order:
- Save your adjustments.
Now the chosen product sequence order is applied storewide. It's important to note that altering the default sequence order DOES affect all categories.
If you select any setting other than “Defined by shop owner”, and later rearrange items within a specific category, the changes won't reflect on the storefront.
Rearrange items within a specific category
When you add products to your shop, they appear in the sequence order that you've selected. If you want to custom sort each and every item, you may do so by dragging and dropping items within a list.
To rearrange items in a category:
- From your shop admin, go to Settings → General → Cart & Checkout.
- In the Catalog Settings section, locate the Default Products Sequence Order dropdown.
- Choose the “Defined by shop owner” setting.
- Then go to Catalog → Categories.
- Click the desired category.
- Go to the Category items tab.
- Drag and drop the items to sort them.
